Loan Provisioning & Regulatory Reporting

LPRRS

One month-end.
A connected view.

Bring the loan book, provision calculations, reconciliations, and reporting into one controlled monthly process. Give credit, finance, and compliance teams a shared basis for review.

Loan Provisioning and Regulatory Reporting System

Credit · Finance · Compliance

The numbers should connect.
So should the work.

A month-end return is the end of a chain: source files, classifications, assumptions, adjustments, checks, and approvals. LPRRS connects those working parts.

Start with the reporting-period data. Calculate provisions and expected credit loss, explain reconciling items, and move the run through preparation, review, and approval before releasing the reporting pack.

Capabilities in focus

Six connected disciplines.
One monthly process.

From the individual contract calculation to the reporting-period sign-off.

01

Loan classification & provisions

Move from the loan book to a structured credit-quality view.

  • Configurable days-past-due classification bands and provisioning rates.
  • Account-level or borrower-level classification, with approved overrides.
  • Collateral eligibility, general and specific provisions, and provision movements.
02

IFRS 9 expected credit loss

Keep the calculation drivers visible.

  • Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 views, including watchlist-driven review.
  • Probability of default, loss given default, exposure, cash flows, and discounting.
  • Base, best, and worst macroeconomic scenarios with configurable weights.
03

Reconciliation & exceptions

See the differences that need an explanation.

  • Data-quality checks for required fields, duplicates, sectors, currencies, and inputs.
  • Loan-book-to-general-ledger bridges with reconciling items.
  • Cross-schedule checks and accounting-versus-regulatory provision comparisons.
04

Regulatory reporting

Work with configured reporting templates.

  • Supported return families populated from period data, mappings, and approved inputs.
  • Workbook layouts retained for Excel exports, with CSV outputs where provided.
  • Source readiness, mapping traces, adjustments, and export history for review.
05

Month-end & board packs

Give management a connected view of credit quality.

  • Monthly loan report and management information pack.
  • Portfolio indicators, sector concentration, larger exposures, and watchlist context.
  • Classification and stage movements, provision trends, and board-pack PDF export.
06

Workflow & accountability

Make preparation, review, and approval explicit.

  • Finance maker and checker responsibilities, with authorized risk/executive approval.
  • Reasoned proposals and decisions for overrides, parameters, and provision adjustments.
  • Locked approved periods, versioned reopening, and named audit records.

Provisioning & ECL

See what drives
the provision.

Keep regulatory provisions and accounting expected credit loss visible as distinct calculations, with a bridge between them.

REGULATORY VIEW

Classify. Apply the rules.
Explain the provision.

Review arrears, classification bands, collateral eligibility, and the applicable provision basis. Track general and specific provisions, opening and closing balances, write-offs, recoveries, and approved adjustments.

  • Inspect the account and borrower context.
  • Review category changes and their recorded reasons.
  • Follow the provision into the reporting schedules.
ACCOUNTING VIEW

Stage. Model the loss.
Inspect the drivers.

Review the stage, cash-flow source, exposure profile, scenario-weighted probability of default, collateral-based loss given default, and expected credit loss. Bring approved overlays into the period view.

  • Trace PD, LGD, and EAD at contract level.
  • Review stage migration and portfolio contribution.
  • Compare calculated results with reference inputs.

Reconcile before release

A difference is a starting point.
Make the explanation visible.

LPRRS separates the source balance, the loan-book result, identified reconciling items, and any unexplained amount. Teams can review the bridge instead of treating the gap as a single total.

  • Identify missing mappings, incomplete records, and stale inputs.
  • Distinguish supplied repayment schedules from derived cash flows.
  • Track corrections, acknowledgements, waivers, and supporting comments.
  • Keep pending adjustments and unresolved blocking checks visible in the workflow.

Reporting coverage

From working schedules
to the reporting pack.

Build the outputs supported by the configured source data and template set.

Credit & provisions

Loan classification schedules, sectoral non-performing-loan views, provision movements, and expected credit loss detail.

Finance & balance sheet

Configured balance sheet and income returns, month-end management information, and related adjustments.

Maturity, currency & distribution

Supported maturity profiles, repricing-gap analysis, country classifications, deposit/advance distributions, and foreign-currency position views.

Operational reporting inputs

Reserve calculations, cash and payment statistics, remittance reporting, and portfolio data components, using available feeds and reviewed supplementary inputs.

Outputs for the people who use themExcel workbooksCSV detailBoard-pack PDFExport history

Template coverage is agreed at implementation.

Some returns are generated from mapped feeds; others need supplementary inputs or further configuration. Scope the required return families, jurisdiction, source fields, and review process together. Recording a submission remains distinct from filing directly with a regulator.

Management & board visibility

Move from the total
to the reason behind it.

Bring portfolio quality, concentration, Special Mention and watchlist exposures, provision comparisons, and ECL trends into the management discussion.

The board pack draws on the reporting-period results, with draft and approved figures distinguished. Teams can investigate the underlying contract calculations in the working views.

The monthly cycle

A clear path
through month-end.

Roles and control gates connect the work from preparation to approved outputs.

  1. 01

    Prepare

Load the reporting-period core-banking extracts, loan-book data, and required reference inputs.

    Finance maker
  2. 02

    Validate

Resolve data gaps, mappings, collateral and days-past-due corrections; inspect estimated or derived inputs.

    Credit & finance
  3. 03

    Calculate & reconcile

Run classification, provisions, and ECL; review GL bridges, schedules, and proposed adjustments.

    Finance & risk
  4. 04

    Review

Submit the draft and review exceptions, reconciliations, and supporting comments.

    Finance checker
  5. 05

    Approve & lock

Approve the run and retain its parameter basis and approved-period records.

    Authorized risk / executive approver
  6. 06

    Export & record

Release the supported reporting pack and record submission details through the workflow.

    Reporting & compliance

Controlled change

Keep the approved basis.
Record what changes next.

Propose a classification override, a scenario-weight change, or an ECL overlay with a reason. Route it for the appropriate decision and keep the decision alongside the period’s records.

Parameter versions

Approved periods retain the parameter snapshot used at sign-off; open runs use the current approved basis.

Named actions

Track who prepared, reviewed, approved, corrected, exported, or recorded an action.

Versioned reopening

Reopen an approved run through the controlled workflow when a new version is needed.

Source-to-report continuity

Bring the right feeds.
See what is still missing.

Use file-based core-banking and business extracts alongside controlled supplementary inputs. Keep file dates, upload history, source readiness, and mapping information visible.

Source-folder ingestion and shared storage depend on the selected host setup. The integration scope starts with the files, reporting calendar, and operating responsibilities your institution uses.

LPRRS questions

Questions for
your first walkthrough.

Is LPRRS an AML product?

LPRRS is a separate loan-provisioning, credit-quality, finance, and regulatory reporting offering. LUMINA remains P4S’s AML offering, while GRAIL addresses governed agentic investigation.

Does the system generate every regulatory return automatically?

The product supports configured return families and workbook templates. Required sources, supplementary inputs, mappings, and jurisdiction-specific coverage are agreed during implementation. A return listed in a catalogue does not by itself mean its generator is configured.

Can teams inspect the ECL calculation?

The working views expose staging, probability of default, loss given default, exposure, cash flows, scenario inputs, and calculation detail at contract level, with portfolio aggregates and migration views.

How are judgemental changes handled?

Teams can propose reasoned classification or stage overrides, parameter changes, and provision adjustments. Authorized approvers decide them through the workflow, and approved-period records retain their basis.

Does recording submission file the return with the regulator?

No. The workflow records that a submission has taken place. Direct electronic filing is not implied by the submission-recording step.

What will the demo cover?

A guided walkthrough can cover data preparation, classification and ECL, reconciliation, review and approval, and reporting outputs. Discuss the source formats and return families most relevant to your institution; no confidential customer data is needed for an initial enquiry.
